These homemade garlic cheese biscuits are one of our favorite sides to have with a warm and comforting winter pasta dish. I always feel that you need some sort of bread side to go along with pasta. It’s what my Mom did so it’s something that I continue today. These homemade biscuits are super easy to make and take only a few minutes to put together. Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic salt (NOT powder)
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • To brush the tops
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning blend
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and cheese.
  2. Add the milk and mayonnaise. Stir until combined.
  3. Spray the bottom of the muffin tins.
  4. Spoon dough into muffin tins and fill 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly browned.
  6. Remove from tins and place on rack to cool.
  7. Melt the butter and add the seasoning and garlic salt.
  8. Brush the tops of each biscuit and serve warm.

If you want to save a few minutes on preparing your biscuits, you can start with already shredded cheddar cheese. You can even make these up the morning before and keep the batter in the refrigerator until it’s dinner time.
